Arizer Extreme Q Review

There’s no doubt when it comes to desktop vaporizers that the Volcano Classic & Volcano Digit are the most popular units available.

But, it’s also true that they’re way over budget for most people. At the retail cost of approximately $239, the Arizer Extreme Q makes desktop-style vaping financially viable for even the most budget conscious user.

For what you get, it’s not a bad deal, either. Even though it’s half the price of the Volcano Classic, you’re still getting a quality vape that works just like it’s intended to. The construction quality is also great; it’s not a metal unit like the Volcano, but it stays cool throughout the entire vaping session and all of the fittings are made of food-grade PVC tubing, so you don’t have to worry about any plastic in the vapor path. You won’t have any off-tasting vapor with the Arizer Extreme Q.

The unit has also been recently redesigned, so it’s much quieter than it used to be and much more energy efficient.

It also includes a remote control, so you can control the temperature, the fan, the light, and even control the sleep timer… all from across the unit. Not even the Volcano has a sleep timer!

Ease of Use

The Arizer Extreme Q is easy to use for a desktop unit and despite any of it’s accessories or options, you won’t have any trouble getting started with it.

It has both bag and whip capabilities, so it’s pretty versatile for a unit that’s less than $250. The more expensive Volcano can’t be used as a whip unit, so the Arizer definitely has that advantage here.

You want to get the bowl loaded and insert it over the heating element before you turn it on. You’d also attach your balloon or your whip at this time. Stirring the material is also necessary or it may burn when you use the unit at the higher temperature settings.

The temperature and fan speed can be adjusted after you have it on and the controls are fairly intuitive; it’s obvious what everything does. Depending on what you set your fan speed to, your vapor will be thicker or thinner. If you want thick vapor, set your fan speed lower. The Arizer experience is surprisingly adjustable considering the price.

The biggest con to this desktop vape is that you can’t use waxes or oils with it, only dry herb materials.

Another downside we see to this vape is that the tubing and the vaporizer itself can get a little hot if you use it too long. It also has to have its parts cleaned regularly, but cleaners like Grunge Off for the glass components make this simple.

You’ll also have to close the bottom of the bags yourself, because there aren’t any valves attached to them.

Check Out The Features

Sleep Timer

The Arizer Extreme Q comes with a surprising feature: a sleep timer. Other desktop vaporizers don’t have this ability, so if this is something you’re interested in, this is a definite perk of this vape over other expensive units.

Full Remote Control

The remote control for the Arizer Extreme Q is intuitive and unique in the desktop vaporizer space. Adjust the temperature, light, and power from a distance. The $600 Volcano can’t do that.

Bag & Whip

The Arizer Extreme Q can be used with both bags and a whip, something that the Volcano isn’t capable of.
