The Best Vaporizer Pens On The Market 2016

Welcome to our guide to the best vaporizer pens of 2016! Vaporizer pens are more commonly known as “e-cigarettes” and we guarantee that we know more about them here than most other blogs on the net because we’ve been in this industry since 2009. If you’re looking for a solid vaporizer pen, we’ve got you covered here.

The Best Vaporizer Pen For All Vaping Media

The V2 Pro Series 3 is the best vaporizer pen currently available on the market today. With the ability to vape waxes, loose leaf, and e-liquid, it’s simply a cut above the rest.

V2 Cig’s e-liquid variety is nearly unmatched and their 12-flavor sampler pack beats all the competition by a long shot.

The charger is magnetic, you can use it while it’s charging, and it automatically knows which cartridge type you’re using and adjusts its temperature accordingly.

The anti-leak seals won’t leave you with a mess all over your pocket or your purse and with a 1600 mAh battery, you won’t have to worry about charging it while you’re out and about.

Cloud Pen 3.0

The Cloud Pen is something everyone who is familiar with wax should know about by now. The 3.0 is the most recent incarnation of the Cloud Pen and it’s definitely the best one they’ve developed to date. It has a 650mAh battery, a ceramic rod atomizer, and a glass globe attachment, and even includes an atomizer for vaping dry herbs, as well.

The Cloud Pen is here to stay and it’s one of the highest quality wax vaporizers currently available anywhere. If you’re new to vaping waxes, this is one you can’t go wrong with.

XEO VOID Vaporizer Pen

Of the kits on this list, this is the only one designed in Germany. German engineering is some of the highest quality on the planet and it shows in the VOID vaporizer. It’s got some serious anti-leak features, a sturdy build, a high quality battery, and fits a standard USB charger.

Even though the manufacturer states that you can get around 400 puffs out of a full cartridge on this bad boy, we’ve only experienced between 350-400 tops. It’s still a great kit, though, and the e-liquid refill capacity makes it a winner.

KandyPens Gravity

The Gravity pen by KandyPens is a high quality wax pen vaporizer that has a few advanced features that other pens don’t have.

The first of these has to do with the atomizer. They’re made of quartz crystal and coilless ceramic, your choice. The quartz chamber atomizer is made of quartz crystal and instead of the coils being made of steel or or other lesser metals, this features titanium. It doesn’t get much better than that if you want to vape fast.

If you like vaping at a slower pace, the coilless ceramic atomizer is what you’re looking for. If you’re interested in conserving your materials and vaping longer, this one’s it.

The variable temperature battery also has 4 different heat settings. If you like to dab, this is the pen for you.

KandyPens SkyCloud

KandyPens SkyCloud 3-in-1 vaporizer with over 15 different colors to choose from. While most other vaporizers only come in a small handful of colors, you won’t have a problem finding a pen that fits your style on this one.

It works with loose leaf, waxes, and oils.

The 3 piece system works very well and has the ability to change out atomizers depending on what kind of material you’re going to use with it. This works great if you keep a mixed company of people; one may vape this, while the other may vape that, so you’re always able to partake wherever you are.

The KandyPen also won’t come apart in your pocket, because it has a locking mechanism that keeps that from happening.

Atmos Rx Vape Pen

The Atmox Raw Rx has been a popular vape for a while and you won’t be disappointed by the performance of this unit. It’s a solid piece that produces a lot of flavorful vapor, whether it’s from dry herb, waxes, or oils, and won’t leave you hanging.

The only thing about this unit is the importance of the glass screen; without it, the device doesn’t perform as it should. It’s not a big deal, though; glass screens are only about $3 and are well worth the investment. With the glass screen, it works like a dream.

Clean the mouthpiece regularly (as you should with all vapes) and you won’t have any issues with it.

G Pen Elite Vaporizer

The G Pen Elite is made by Grenco Science, makers of the original G Pen, G Pro Vaporizer, and the Snoop Dogg G Pen. This badass vape has a few features that other pen vaporizers just don’t have.

The first thing that sets it apart is the heating chamber made completely of ceramic. Ceramic heats up more evenly and holds heat longer than steel does, so you end up getting a vapor that’s cleaner and more full of flavor than other vapes. You can choose any temperature you want between 200°F to 428°F and yeah, that means you can choose it down to the degree. Changing the temperature is as easy as pressing the + and – buttons.

While many other vape pens are limited to only 0.5 grams of dry material, the G Pen Elite can hold 0.75 grams.

Atmos Kiln Vaporizer

The Atmos Kiln RA vaporizer is a pretty homely-looking little vaporizer; if you don’t mind the appearance, it’s a solid unit with a few great benefits.

The first of these is that the housing is made of ceramic and the cool thing about this is that it doesn’t get hot after being used a few times. Many vaporizers get a bit uncomfortably hot to handle after being used, but not the Atmos Kiln.

Next is the fact that you can change out the atomizer on this one. This makes it about $15-$20 more than the regular Atmos Kiln, but well worth it.

It also heats up fairly quick; it only takes it a few seconds to produce amazing vapor after pressing the power button.

It comes in at around $89.95 for the plus model and $49.95 for the normal version.

If you use primarily e-liquids or oils, want a vape that delivers a great tasting vapor, and you like discretion, the VERTX is definitely for you.

Why Is It An Honorable Mention Only?

Types Of Vaporizer Pens

Vaporizers have been available in the United States for about 8 years now and while the quality of the products has definitely improved, there are still only 3 basic types of them on the market. Listed below are the 3 types of vaporizers that you can get.

E-Cigarette-Style Vapes

Vaporizers first came on the market in the form of e-cigarettes. Since the legalization of medical cannabis in 1996 in California, users have been searching for new, better ways to consume it. Soon after e-cigarettes came to the US, e-liquid with THC started to be used almost immediately. Almost any e-cigarette today can be used with cannabis oil, but there are some that are specially designed for just this purpose.

There are many kinds of cannabis e-liquids available, some which contain primarily THC and others that contain CBD. There is also a difference between e-liquids that are made with propylene glycol (PG), polyethylene glycol (PEG), and those made with vegetable glycerin (VG). When looking for e-liquids, make sure that they’re from a high quality vendor and are made with one of these 3 ingredients to stay safe.

Wax, Dab, & Concentrate Vaporizer Pens

Waxes and concentrates becoming more widely available has changed things for medical cannabis consumption in the US. When they were first invented, using them was inconvenient, difficult, and cumbersome. Vaporizer pens get rid of most of the work involved in using them and you can get the same results every single time you use them.

Waxes & Dabs

Taking a hit off of a wax is known as “dabbing”, but the popular vaping medium is also known as BHO (butane hash oil). Anyone interested should realize that this isn’t a user-friendly activity to undertake, so you shouldn’t try to make your own. Making it is more dangerous than making hash… don’t try this at home. These can end up being more than 80% pure THC. Due to the faster, higher high, wax is known to produce hallucinations.

Dry Herb Pen Vaporizers

Dry herb pens are the most recent of the 3 types of vaporizers. Most pens don’t vape dry herb very well, but there are a few that do. The technology to do this in a pen style vaporizer is fairly new; if you wouldn’t mind a less discreet unit, you may want to try a portable vaporizer instead.

Dry Herb

Medical cannabis isn’t cheap, so wasting it isn’t much of an option for people who have to use it. Making sure you pick the right vaporization method for you is important to conserve what you have.

The Rare 3-In-1 Models

The 3-in-1 vaporizer pens are brand new to the market over the past couple of years. Most vape pens don’t do dry herb very well, much less all 3 types of media well. If you’re pretty versatile and don’t mind which type of media you vape or if availability of all 3 kinds varies on and off, you’d be better off spending the money on a 3-in-1 unit.

But, How Do They Work?

Vaporizer pens are constructed primarily of 3 different parts, which are the atomizer, the mouthpiece, and the battery.

Atomizer – This is what heats up your waxes, concentrates, oils, and dry herb. Some atomizers are designed differently than others, however, and work better for different types of media.

Mouthpiece – This is where you place your lips to take draws off of the pen. Some are shaped differently, but drip tips are made for directly dropping e-liquid onto the atomizer inside of the unit. Skip units that don’t have detachable mouthpieces, because they’re difficult, if not impossible, to clean thoroughly.

Battery – The battery is important in more ways than just how long it holds a charge. Some take longer to charge than others, while some are simply regular AA batteries. The way a rechargeable battery is charged up matters to some people; a USB charger to plug in to your computer is useful if you’re at a desk all day.

The Construction Materials

The 3 most common types of materials used in vaporizers in general are listed here.

Steel – Steel is shiny and cool looking on the outside of a vape, but on interior components like the atomizer housing, they’re a cheap solution.

Ceramic – Ceramic atomizer housings are superior to steel housings in every way; they regulate the heat inside your vaporizer better and they’re better cut out to handle the heat than the steel is. These types of atomizers are designed for longer vaping sessions at lower, more even heat.

Glass – You’ll find glass in things like filters (such as in the Atmos Rx) and as the housing of tanks that hold e-liquid. Glass gives a much cleaner flavor than plastic materials ever could. When you’re reading about a vaporizer and they have glass components, you’re likely reading about a superior, higher than normal quality unit.

What To Look For In A Quality Vaporizer

What you would consider a quality vaporizer pen has largely to do with what you’re going to be using it for and what situations you’re going to use it in. Quality is typically directly in proportion to how much it costs; an inexpensive vaporizer is much more likely to be lesser quality than a more expensive unit, but this isn’t always the case. You very often get what you pay for when it comes to this.

In general, though, look for a battery that has a long life and is easily chargeable, glass and ceramic interior components, if possible, and anti-leak features. Then, balance all of these features against how much you can spend and there’s the best vape for you. Some vape pens are $120, others are $50. There are good units at all price ranges, but you can’t expect star quality if you only paid for the moon.

Have You Made Your Choice?

Have you picked your pen yet? There are definitely a lot of great vaporizer pens to choose from and that’s not a bad thing. It’s understandable that it can be difficult to choose the one that’s right for you with so many quality options available.

Vapor-Domain is full of the information that you need to make a decision on what type of vaporizer you want, whether you’re looking for a portable vaporizer (and just don’t know it yet), a pen style (as we talked about here), or a desktop vape. If it’s a good vape and it’s available in the United States, we have it reviewed.

The best way to get started in vaping is just pick one that fits your needs and run with it. If you’re looking for a quality pen, as long as it’s on the list on this page, you can’t go wrong.
